If you have an iPhone 3G, be sure try out Testmyiphone.com to see if your service provider is not cheating you when they say they are giving you a certain amount of bandwith. Singtel is promising 3.6Mbps dowload and 0.384Mbps for upload. Quite reasonable on the results but i hope to see the numbers stay higher when i am in different parts of the country. Please stop hoarding your profits and give your customers what they truly deserve.

It’s a pity that not many ppl i know have a habit of micro-blogging or even blogging. Micro-blogging is, as its name suggest, simply small, miniature versions of blogging. You post what comes to your mind. Because of the letter limit, you are ‘induced’ to attempt witty posts just like a haiku.
The Internet has developed into a new medium to one which makes you more connected to people with social networking. You no longer just add friends because you know them in person. You add them because you probably like the content they posted. Having more ‘friends’ somehow motivates you to post even more.
The following websites are the few that i know of. Some only have features i mentioned in this post while some have cool, interesting features like photo gallery posting and file-sharing. Well, give them a shot and add me if you do join any.
Twitter is one of leading micro-blogging sites. Their UI is very simple and they have released a developer platform for third-party developers to create apps. What makes twitter so popular is probably the fact that it was one of the first micro-blogging sites, its developer platform and its IM posting features. I also think some micro-blogging trends are set by Twitter users. For example, you can reply to a friend’s post with a ‘@’ like ‘@kennethteo how do you do?’. Add me @kennethteo. I like twitter but popularity has become a ‘double-edged sword’. It’s been experiencing a lot of downtimes.
Pownce is one of my favourites. More features than twitter and it has quite a cool UI with a way for you to add all your online profiles. Add me at kennethteo@pownce. If you prefer to post on a desktop client instead of the web interface, try their own desktop client here. Did i also mentioned that they also made available their developers’ platform.
Another of my favourite. Coolest but conventional way to post; thru email. Posterous identifies you by your email address. So there is no need for a special convention to your email posting. Registration to their service is simply by sending your first email to post[at]posterous.com. Just send it. You can also upload photos with your emails as image attachments. The guys at posterous have made something cool for your photos. Uploaded photos will be automatically placed into a nice gallery. Perhaps you can kiss Flickr.com goodbye… Another thing to add, you can reply to your comments with email. Simple and Nice…
The Internet has changed our lives in the way we communicate with each other. Meeting ppl is made easier with so many different channels, be it Facebook or Friendster or even a forum about your favourite hobby.
